Vulnerability factors and complex identities - substance use and prevention work among lgbtq-persons with migrant background
This programme item will be held in English.
LGBTQI+ persons with migrant backgrounds naturally share some of the same experiences regarding sexual identity, the "coming out" process, marginalization, substance use and sexual health as LGBTQI+ persons with an ethnic Norwegian background, but having multiple minority identities can contribute to a person being particularly vulnerable to risky substance use.
In our presentation we will talk about vulnerability factors and how these can be taken into consideration when working with minority groups.
