Celebrating Queer Voices with MAREA (Gamle Raadhus Scene)

MAREA is an international artist who writes and performs about themes they deeply care about and consider interconnected: trans and queer rights, environmental justice, anti-racism, animals’ rights. Their music holds space for survivors’ voices and challenges systems of oppression without softening the message.
They’ve always been drawn to Norway and its music scene. With Celtic tones, mystical harmonies and a voice that was shortlisted for the role of Jasmine in Disney’s live-action movie of Aladdin, MAREA’s music draws you into a realm of care and rebellion, where songs feel less like tracks and more like offerings or wake-up calls.

Join us for a night of their newly-released original songs and queer-historic song covers, all spiced up a bit by melodic improvisations. And who knows, maybe a not-yet-released song that will be played live for the very first time!
